Is it better to use a border run company or fly to renew my multi-entry visa in Thailand?

Good day! I am here on a multi entry visa and my time to exit (60 days)and return is upon me. Is it advisable to use a company that takes you across border and back same day to get new visa stamp or take a flight out and return? What is the difference and is one option better than the other? Thanks in advance for any help in clearing this up!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the best options for renewing a multi-entry visa in Thailand as the expiration approaches. Users share their experiences with using agents for border crossings, the costs involved, and compare it to flying to neighboring countries for visa renewal. Some users recommend using an agent for convenience, while others suggest doing a border bounce independently, depending on personal circumstances such as location and immigration history.

I did an overnight in KL and came back into BKK with no issues. I had previously had 3 x 30 day exemptions (before the change to 60) and had been in and out to the UK and other parts of Asia. I panicked and tried to get the Thai visa office in the UK to give me a tourist visa. As I was in Bali they refused took my £50 (actually apologetically) and told me the visa exemption was fine to use. I took the email with me but had zero issues at the airport. I came back last September and did the KL hop in December. I was actually helping a business colleague out and had initially was going to get the 30 day extension. I got the 60 day and that gave me the time to apply for the retirement visa and get the bank account set up

It depends on your history of staying in Thailand, and what your location is in Thailand now, when you are planning on doing the border bounce?? The easiest and safest way, is to just go in a minivan with a company that does border bounces.

I used an agent and flew to Malaysia had coffee with a friend and came back within 2 hours got stamped and everything was good ....

if you have a multi entry 6-months tourist visa, you can theoretically do a border-bounce on your own on the same day, you don't need an agent

who advises this ?

I also think it’s no problem at all to go border bounce in your own.

actually, I do, on good reason. . . . . . . Have you read the report about a recent denial of entry from somebody who used a METV and was about to enter 2 days before its expiry? He got refused entry, wasn't able to get the "last" 60 days that would have made his complete stay 8 months

@Nong****
that is one example 144 million people travel through the main airport and he was clearly flagged. Very strange one example hmmm - you ain’t selling this

Did you get the +30 day extension already?

Why don't you just fly to another country for a few days and fly back. The cost of the flight will be the same as using an agency.

Don't want to deal with the hassle of the airport, etc if I don't "need to".

driving across the border and getting bus back and forth is dangerous.

I have to disagree. I used to go on my all the time absolutely no issues at all. Jus go do it and my mindful of your ur surroundings.

The answer to the first part of your question depends on which land border you plan to use
