Hey friends,

I’ll have to do a visa run within the next 2 weeks. What’s your recommendation to do so on a budget. Do you know companies or groups that facilitate that without headaches?

I’m based in BKK.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around performing a visa run or border bounce from Bangkok within two weeks. Respondents clarify the difference between those two options, with suggestions leaning towards budget-friendly methods such as using public transportation instead of costly visa run companies. Recommendations include looking at flights to nearby countries like Malaysia, staying away from the busy Poipet border, and taking a bus to Nong Khai for a smooth border experience. The conversation emphasizes the importance of considering visa fees and return policies.

Van leaves from on nut car park at 4 am in the morning, out side the lotus supermarket, 3500 baht

Thanks for the clarification. It’s seems like a border bounce makes the most sense in my situation. I have a German passport so I entered TH on a tourist visa 2 months ago. I then did the tourist visa extension. So now it’s time for the border bounce.

yes, you are correct.

Remember, you’re only allowed two land border crossing in a calendar year.

A visa run or a border bounce? Two totally different things.

I’ve used Thai visa service multiple times. Both a visa run to Laos and border bounces to Cambodia.

I highly recommend them as they have been great the 10 or so times I’ve used them. All the information you need is on their website.

do you recommend taking a train, van, taxi? And what destination is the most easy going for a border bounce from your experience? :)

don't go to poipet. Nongkai is easy, get a Laos visa in the border. Fly up to UdonThani and get a bus to the border .

But you need a Laos visa that cost you 40-50 US $

yes, visas cost money. Cambodia the same. Malaysia has no visa fee but is more expensive to get to, and more expensive to stay.

I have no clue, I've never done a border bounce. But I do know that trains and buses do not cost much here. Much less than the 100 bucks these border bounce companies quote.

Check out the airlines first you maybe able to get a cheap flight to neighbouring country and return. Malaysia and Singapore do not charge for visas also Vietnam for certain countries. Otherwise get bus to cambodia or loas

First we need to establish if you're actually talking about a VISA run where you want to go to a Thai embassy as and spend 2-3 days apply for a visa.

Or are you talking about a border bounce where you just leave and immediately return?
