I got my DTV approved this month. I am wondering do I have to maintain 500K baht (equivalent) in the bank throughout the 5 years?

I used to hold retirement visa. When come to renewing the visa, I need to present bank statement for the entire year.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa does not require you to maintain 500K baht in your bank account throughout the 5 years, unlike the retirement visa. However, for visa extensions within Thailand, you will need to show proof of funds, similar to the initial application requirements.

Depends where and when as they make up the requirements as they go.

If you are looking to extend inside Thailand you need to show you still meet all of the criteria. A border bounce is probably easier

No need to maintain fund same as Retirement Visa. However if you wish to extend in country Immigration Offices are asking for same paperwork as initial application ie proof of 500k funds. (PS: You are not renewing the visa for 5 years)
