TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses options for accessing UK sports channels such as Sky Sports and BT Sport while living in Thailand. Users suggest various methods like using a VPN, Android boxes, and Amazon Firesticks. The consensus is that it is relatively easy to access these services with multiple options available for streaming. Specific recommendations include using apps or services that may not even require a VPN. Some mention that getting familiar with local accommodation for events like the Buriram GP is also important.

I use it to access BBC iPlayer and other UK TV catch up. We actually watch very little live TV channels because of time difference.

no I have never used a VPN, in the UK it's necessary to hide your identity so you don't get caught but I don't think Thailand go after consumers as strongly as the UK does.
