Hello everyone,

The DTV visa requires you to have 500,000 THB (15,000 USD) of money in your checking account right?

I have $4000 to my name & I earn about $2000 in my remote job.

What are my options? is my only option saving up to have $15,000? or can my $2000 payslips help?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa requires a minimum of 500,000 THB (approximately 15,000 USD) in a checking account. You currently have $4,000 and earn $2,000 from a remote job. Options include saving up the required amount, obtaining sponsorship from a friend or family member, or considering a loan. Some embassies may require the funds to be available for a period of 3 to 6 months, so be cautious if choosing to borrow.

If you don't have the bt500,000, nothing else matters.

It's required so either take out a loan to show the funds or save up untill you have the required amount

If you borrow, be careful, some consulate ask for the money to be here several months

I have seen agents now who can assist with the visa, including the funds

Loaning the money? What is included to 1000 USD? One I saw included everything for the 150k THB but way overpriced.

I’m using an agency for my marital visa, $900 incudes EVERYTHING (paperwork, funds, open Thai bank account in my name) the only thing I provide myself is marriage certificate from my country.

Not sure about DTV but should include all, because they have DTV service.

Just checked and they charge 30k baht for any kind of visa needed.

OK. I think the Retirent Visa with the agent providing funds is around same price in Pattaya. I do not know if bank account is extra but I suspect it might be. The multi re-entry permit will be extra too.

would think so, but depending on the OP circumstances it maybe a good alternative. Saving then keeping it for 6 months could mean a full calendar year

I have seen one offering but it costs more than his 4k USD savings!

Some are milking it - asking 150k THB. It includes everything apparently inc the soft power, forms, travel and hotel in Laos/Cambodia. I just have a strange feeling about these. Do you remember what happened with Ed & Volunteer when people did not have to do the courses or attend to volunteer? Not even living or registered in the location?

There are plenty of agencies here that will front you the funds needed in your bank account for around $900-$1000

Your only options are to either borrow the money or wait until you have accumulated it

Sponsorship may be an option or you find a trusted friend or family to lend you the money for one day

I’m sure the amount has to have been in your account 6 months or more

HK is 3 months

that only works with some embassies. Some require the balance to go back 6 months

thank you for the suggestion, I don’t like burdening other people with my personal things tho. I will just wait and hopefully save up enough. ;)
