Should I Wait for Government Announcements Before Contacting the UK Embassy About My Visa Extension?

I’m currently in Bangkok on a 30 day extension of my tourist visa, and plan to contact the UK embassy for a covid-19 unable to travel letter, closer to the time my extension runs out (7/5/20). Do you suggest I wait for government to make more announcements on 30th before I contact the embassy? And in order to get this extension, will I need to go to the immigration office, or can I avoid crowds by completing this a different way? Thanks in advance

There are flights back to the UK almost daily. Don't assume you will get further extensions.

AND seeing as you have an extension good until the 7th of May you aren't covered at all on this current 'blanket amnesty free stamp" until the 30th.

Just wait and see what happens AFTER the 30th..

unsettling feeling but thanks for shining some clarity on it for me. Are you aware on the reasoning for why they have stopped releasing this letter? Are there now flights back to the UK?

yeah, you're a day late and a dollar short on wanting to contact your embassy for the "unable to travel due to covid-19" letter :O The UK consulate stopped issuing the letter right now

thanks Tod. What do you think my next step should be? Shall I wait till 30th for more announcements, and play it by ear?
