Has anyone received a letter from the British Embassy for an extension of stay in Thailand during COVID-19 lockdown?

Anyone successfully got a letter from the British Embassy to request an extension of stay while the UK is in lockdown and likely to remain Tier 3 even after it's lifted?

Or a reply from them explaining why (as many have asserted in this forum recently) they are not issuing those?

Just need a bit more time to be able to get a new visa sorted in country to avoid having to apply from abroad...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry seeks to know if anyone has successfully obtained a letter from the British Embassy in Thailand for extending their stay during the UK lockdown, which is expected to persist even post-lockdown. The user wishes to find out if the embassy is still issuing these letters or providing explanations regarding their unavailability, as they need additional time to secure a new visa without having to apply from outside the country. Responses indicate that the embassy is no longer issuing these letters and provide personal experiences regarding immigration procedures and stamps received.

They aren’t issuing letters anymore. I applied for 60 day ext today and immigration handed back my old letter as not required. The lady ticked the not able to return home due to COVID box & I got an under consideration stamp to 14 Dec.

those 30 days can be a godsend for people actually planning to go home but waiting for it to be safer and cheaper to do so, but not much help for those in need of another year and being told to apply from abroad

Yeah especially those whose visas are expiring just after the amnesty. My problem is that finding an alternative way to complete my studies may take a few months to achieve, which isn't possible on a rolling prayer for another 30 days every 30 days.

Everybody on a covid amnesty is stamped to 30 Nov, so nobody knows yet what will happen with this next one.

My current visa expires 30 Nov so can apply anytime. I’m expecting 60 days from 30 Nov which will bring me to end of Jan.

and did you have to wait for your visa to be expired or close, or could people do that a month before the end of visa making us actually have 2 months to find and execute a plan?
