Hi. Sorry if this has been asked before but couldn’t find specifically.

Im a UK national and currently in Phuket.

Entered Phuket 7 weeks ago on a 30 day visa, and also already have the 30 day visa extension from Phuket immigration office which runs out on 25th March. I'd prefer to stay in Phuket right now than return to the mad paranoia that seems to have infected London right now!

I had been planning on doing a ‘visa run’ to KL/Penang to get a new 30 day visa but today’s Malayaia announcement makes that a no go.

I saw the below but don’t know it’s validity or if it’s up to date as was written on 3rd March.

Any ideas how to get a 30 day extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK national in Phuket is looking to extend their stay beyond the current visa that is expiring soon. They are inquiring about alternatives to a visa run to Malaysia, which is no longer possible due to recent travel announcements. Comments suggest obtaining a confirmation letter from their embassy for a visa extension request at the immigration office, while also noting mixed reports on the length of extensions granted. Another suggestion is to do a border run if eligible.

Do a border run ASAP if eligible. That gives you 30 days plus added 30 days extension from local immigration office.

where would you suggest I do this border run, given Malaysia shutdown?

As it says ...

"Foreign nationals first need to obtain a confirmation letter from their Embassy in Thailand, and then submit their visa extension request together with the letter to the Immigration Authority."

Reports are mixed.

Some getting 14 days others 30 days extension.

DO NOT be on OVERSTAY to obtain this...

Good Luck.
