TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking guidance on what to do if they cannot make it to the border for their required 90-day border bounce while on a Non-B ME 1-year visa due to COVID-19 restrictions. They are also inquiring about receiving a letter from the UK Embassy for an extension and details regarding the necessary documents and costs for applying for a 1-year Extension of Stay based on employment.

Ok, this conversation has gotten sideways with talk about immigration offices cancelling visas and work permits. I'm shutting it down. OP: You got good advice, listen to it.

you need to GO and get the hand out of the requirements for a year extension based on employment, it's not "basically the same as a tourist extension, it's a PILE of documents, tax statements, withholding paperwork, the list of share holders, the thaiz you employ and their salary withholding.

The reason many people get year-long, multi-entry Non-B's is that they're unable to meet the requirements inside the country to get a year extension at an immigration office BUT can meet the lesser requirements to get a year-multi-Non-B from a consulate :/

I'd say recontact your consulate and get that embassy letter so you can apply for the unable to travel due to covid-19 extension of up to 30 days.

Take note that in Phuket if you only go for the 30 day extension to fly out it will void your non b and wp or that's what they told me last week, I had to apply for a marriage visa as they told me that won't affect my wp and it's far less forms than applying for extension of stay based on non b

You normally need to employ 4 Thai staff to get 1 year extension of stay.....unless Im mistaken. Thats why you get the 1yr multi entry non-B, same as I have.

However if you do manage to get one, please let me know.

Cost of application for Extension of Stay is 1.900 Thb.

you need to visit your local immigration office for the hand out as not every of the over 70 offices are using exact the same requirements.

your first option is to apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay at Immigration. If the company can not meet the requirements you apply at your Embassy for the letter that you can not travel.

This letter you use to apply before your Admitted until ../../.. date in your passport to apply for an Extension of Stay based on Embassy request

I recommend getting a one year extension of stay based on employment. I have heard that the COVID-19 letter would also work to give you UP TO an additional 30 days to catch a flight out of Thailand.
