Hi. I'm UK citizen on visa exempt (extended) in Chiang Mai until April 14th. My April 10th flight was cancelled with Qatar Airways but I haven't even received a cancellation email (just checked flight status on their website).

I have contacted UK embassy in BKK. Has anybody found themselves in a similar situation? Can I get an emergency extension without flight cancellation email? Can I do anything in the mean time (go to immigration in CM?)?

Answer summary

A UK citizen on a visa exempt in Chiang Mai is seeking advice on obtaining an emergency visa extension after their flight with Qatar Airways was cancelled. They are unsure if they can get the extension without a cancellation email and if they should go to immigration in the meantime. Responses suggest obtaining a letter from the UK consulate regarding inability to travel due to COVID-19 to support the extension application.

You don't show your flight cancellation to get the emergency extension
