When trying to get an extension for visa exempt from the UK, do they now give you and extra 30 days or the longer covid extension. Also can you go to the bkk extension office without booking an appointment.. Mine expires today and I was planning on turning up just after 1pm.

Answer summary

Inquiring about visa extension options for a UK citizen with a visa exemption, specifically regarding the possibility of obtaining an additional 30 days or a longer COVID extension, and whether an appointment is necessary for the extension office in Bangkok. Notably, there may be a requirement to first secure the regular 30-day extension before qualifying for the COVID extension, with varied procedures depending on the specific location.

Most offices will insist you get the regular 30 day extension before allowing you to apply for the Covid extension. I don’t know the procedure in Bangkok but from reading reports a lots of wait time can be saved by booking an appointment (edit not even sure if available for visa exempt extensions - I’ll let others who know BKK advise).
