Hello group, I am a UK citizen, currently in Australia on a temporary visa. Planning to leave Australia for good on 11th August and fly to Phuket. Hoping to get the 60 day visa and possibly extend whilst there. Can anyone advise best way to apply for this visa (website link etc) and what documents I need? Have seen lots of different things online so just want to get it right! Thanks in advance! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen currently in Australia seeks advice on how to apply for a 60-day visa before traveling to Phuket. It's noted that applications should be made at the Thai Embassy or Consulate in Australia, as online applications are not available. There may be tight time constraints for visa processing in Australia, and an alternative of entering visa-exempt and applying for an in-country extension may also be discussed.

From my own experience, you may not have time to apply in Australia for Visa...

You might have to come in Visa-exempt and get an in-country extension giving you 60 days total

Check the Canberra Embassy website. You may or may not have enough time to process your visa in Australia. You cannot apply at the Sydney consulate since it says to apply 3 weeks in advance.

You apply at the Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate in your area in Australia.

There is no on-line option available at the moment and you can not get a 60 day visa when you arrive in Phuket.

@Robert ******
the Thai Consulate in Adelaide closed down (even though their website says they're still open) so I tried online and phone calls to Canberra. Waste of time.

"Press 1 for this. Press 2 for that."

The info was out of date.

Never got to speak to a real person.
