Has anyone applied for the usual tourist visa recently?
I’m looking to do it in London (I’m British) and wonder if it’s better to physically go to embassy or to try to process online.. any insights would be appreciated! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
Applying for a Thai tourist visa from London is now done exclusively online through the eVisa system. Users have reported positive experiences with the online application process, noting that it is faster and more efficient compared to in-person applications at embassies, which are no longer available in the UK. Most comments recommend applying online, citing ease of use and quick approval times.

I am US citizen, applied for my visa online in the US. It was approved within a couple of days. I do the online visa again.

You need to apply online, it's an evisa. Very easy to do.
In Denmark it is not possible to apply via embassy anymore, but I find the eVisa website to be much faster and more efficient (took me 3 days) compared to normal in office (1-2 weeks)

Got mine from the Thai consulate in Cardiff, but this was last year
yep sadly you're a day late and a dollar short with that information 🙁
*****PLEASE NOTE: CONSULATES WILL FULLY CLOSE FROM 27TH MAY 2021, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ISSUE A VISA AFTER 6PM THAT DAY. FROM THAT DATE ALL VISAS MUST BE APPLIED FOR ONLINE FROM LONDON

London uses the evisa system so all applications are done online. You don’t go to the embassy and you don’t get a physical visa in your passport, just an email confirmation.
