Just wondering if anyone has gotten a 60 day tourist visa from Taiwan/Taipei recently? How was the experience? Specifically for any Australians out there.

Answer summary

The discussion revolves around the experience of obtaining a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand from Taiwan, particularly focusing on the perspectives of Australians. Key points include the lack of a Thai consulate in Taiwan, as individuals must approach the Thailand Trade and Economic Office for the visa process. Previous applicants reported mixed experiences, with some mentioning the requirement to show proof of onward travel and others describing a challenging and lengthy application process.

if you need go there for whatever reason, then do it, otherwise, dont. i went a few years ago and it was a horrible experience. i am 99% confident they only ever deal with tour groups (taiwanese) and have no idea what to do when someone with a western passport comes around. i eventually got it, after about 2 hours of talking and convincing the lady.

as there is no thai consulate in Taiwan, you deal with the Thailand Trade and Economic Office.

I found reports a couple years old of people getting them but nothing recent.

Here's the link to their site
