Hi everyone, apologies if this has been answered before, I have used the search but didnt find the info I was looking for.

DTV in Hanoi or HCM

-do you recommend to apply in Hanoi or HCM?

-required funds: I read that bank statements for 6 months must be submitted but also heard from people transferring the required 500.00THB just before. Can someone shed light on this, please? How much money does have to be in the account and for how long? Is it okay if its not in just one account?

-translation of documents: I understand that any documents submitted must be translated into English. Do they need to be notarised or is a regular translation sufficient (for my freelance contracts and invoices, for example).

Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the preferred location for applying for a DTV visa in Vietnam—Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City—and inquires about the required funds, specifically concerning bank statements and whether the minimum amount must be maintained for six months. It also seeks clarification on translation requirements for documents, including if notarization is necessary.

Apply in Germany, and stay in the comfort of your home, instead of waiting weeks in a hotel in a country, you don’t want to visit in.

And since most documents probably is issued in Germany, less confusion about the documents.

Wo steht das die Dokumente übersetzt werden müssen? Stimmt das wirklich?

Also, I just spoke to a Muay Thai gym that seems to help many people to obtain a DTV and they now think, Hanoi is more hasslefree than Ho Chi Minh City.

sometimes, a fresh set of eyes helps the research. It can become overwhelming at times, but that is what the group is here for :)

apologies, it wasn’t your first question, rather your first point reference the 3 months. As this post shows an approval, based on the equivalent of 500K THB being deposited a week prior. So it actually does answer this point.
