Is there an ATM at Phuket International Airport arrivals before immigration?
Can somebody please remind me whether there is an ATM at Phuket (International) arrivals before immigration? My son is entering this evening and needs to show cash.... Many thanks

IDR – Indonesian Rupiah. IDR is considered to be a restricted currency, which implies an inherent limitation to the tradability of this currency. Fund transfers in this currency are not allowed outside of Indonesia. I wouldn't count on that being accepted by immigration

OPThanks guys... He's been here 4 months and overstayed only due to glitches with getting a work permit... an agency had his passport. He has a kbank atm card but I'll make sure he also gets a bundle of cash in kl before leaving... :-)

only visa exempt as he was told in kl Thai consulate they don't issue visas for brit passport. Is that strange?

Unless your son has an extensive history of living here on back-2-back visa exempt or tourist visa entries I doubt they will be asked anything when stamping into the country.

Not possible (no ATM before immigration) - must have the cash in any currrency before he arrives (in case he is asked)

I would doubt there is any. ATM machines air side mean continual security clearance for people to fill them.
