Here you can apply for a 60 day tourist visa.

By staying over 30!days you double complicate your life.

1 you need a visa extension ,with all its requirements

2. You need a ongoing flight out of Thailand BEFORE the end of your first 30.days .

You don't have to do it .....but you have to have it .

And of course you need , baht on arrival In any currency ,baht makes sense ( which you should have always anyway )

Technically no. But if you plan to enter Thailand visa exempt, that only gives you 30 days of permission to stay in Thailand. Your airline may require you to show proof that you are leaving within 30 days, and they can deny boarding until you do.

If you apply for a tourist visa online, it will cost less than an extension in Thailand, and you won't have to spend a day of your trip worrying about gathering the paperwork involved in an extension, traveling to the immigration offices, and applying. (Unless you are applying to the Thai embassy in New Zealand where Thai visas are very expensive)
