TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen can stay in Thailand for 30 days with a visa exemption. Alternatively, a 6-month multi-entry tourist visa can be obtained online from London for £150, allowing for a total of up to 9 months with two border crossings.
if you're not going to be working you can get a multiple entry tourist visa from your home country before traveling. This visa type is only available from your home country.
