Is there a limit to the number or times we can enter Thailand on a visa exemption or tourist visa in a calendar year? I arrived in March, did the 30 day extension, and then did the COVID visa. I was thinking of visiting the Philippines and then coming back to Thailand on a tourist visa or visa exemption again. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is a limit on the number of times you can enter Thailand on a visa exemption if entering by land, which is two times in a calendar year. For air entries, there is no official limit, but frequent entries may prompt questions from immigration officials regarding your travel intentions. It is advisable to have proof of onward travel if utilizing visa exemptions frequently.
The limit of 30 day visa exempt entries by LAND is two in a calendar year
There is no official number of 30 day visa exempt entries you can get when flying in
BUT
after a few be prepared to get pulled aside to be asked what you're doing comin' here so much, why you're using visa exempt entries instead of another type of visa AND it can't hurt to have proof of onward travel showing you're leaving in 30 days
