Is being able to evidence 500 K Bhat savings only required up until the point the application is submitted?
I currently have roughly exactly that amount of savings.
Once I pay the fee for the Visa, pay for my accommodation in Vietnam for the week and also book my return ticket to Thailand then I will be maybe ΰΈΏ20,000 below the 500 K requirement.
Would this matter if during the application process, they asked me to come forward again for additional information or interview?
My savings are like 505,000 bhat ππ π π

TLDR : Answer Summary
The visa application for Thailand requires evidence of 500,000 Baht in savings at the time of submission. Applicants are advised to carefully time their bank statements to match the application date. While some might consider using the services of an agency, it's highlighted that having sufficient savings is crucial for long-term support during the visa duration, as proof will be requested during extensions. Planning ahead for expenses after application submission is also recommended.

So... how long before the submission date can we get the bank statement? A month before seems early no?

You don't need to spend more on agency services, save your funds, but remember the 500k is your support fund, your supposed to be able to support yourself for 5 years, thus, why they ask for proof again at each extension, yes you can leave and return, that will cost even more. Think it through, 5 years of money, how much do you need! Everyone is different.
the 500k is to support your self for your 180 day stay. If you extended they will likely want to see a new statement and less than 500k won't cut it

Anonymous participant 246 I've been to immigration and they want to see the funds available. We know things are tightening so they could start to ask at point of entry.
The do not see the 500K as money for 5 years, when you look at other visa and monthly required income, the conclusion can be that the 500K is for about 8 months.
I think that indeed is reasonable, even the minimum wage of Thai people is over 500K in 5 year.
This visa is not meant to live in Thailand for 5 years, so therefore the requirements are not meant for full 5 years of living
so you apply showing 500k you arrive and stay 180 days, decide to extend, requirements are to prove you have 500k. Now that continues for 5 years. So how can you not need 500k available for the duration of the visa!
Spend it all in the first 180 days and then what's your game plan?
You seem to be taking issue at what I'm saying. Think it through its basic logic, don't fill people with false hopes, they need to totally be aware, you can't live on nothing and you need to prove it, the process is for a reason, not for people to bend it to fit. But, you could stay in Thailand for the 5 years couldn't you. Have you not been keeping upto speed, leave for a day, extend, time it right and get 5.5 years.
I think indeed it is a good idea to always have 500K reserve when you plan to live in Thailand or whatever country in the world that has not social security for you.
Personally I would rethink my plans when my reservers where that low that a few days after application it already would be less than 500K.
The 500K are meant as a reserve, not for general cost of living.

Yes itβs fine only for submission mate company in Pattaya guaranteeing processing of DTV no need for work docs or bank payments they charge 90,000 baht but including hotel transfer flight etc
seems wildly excessive. I flew to Vietnam, applied online, stayed in a mid range hotel for 10 days and flew back. Whole thing came to under 20,000 Thai Baht - including flights and hotel I booked myself
i'll definitely be able to evidence this at the time as I submit the application. But by the week after I won't as I'll have to pay rent etc.
Would this matter if let's say my application is delayed because they request additional documents, would they request to see my bank statements again?
