DTV advice please

I tried to do all the right things. Rang the Thai consulate in Australia, only got an automated message to email questions instead. Did that and they didn’t answer my main question.

Can anyone who applied through one of the Australian consulates please tell me how long the 500k have to sit in one bank account before you apply? We have savings in several different accounts and I don’t really want to move that money until we have to.

Is it enough to show 3-6 months of statements showing regular income plus transferring the 500k just before applying? Or does it have to sit in one account for 3-6 months?

Also, how many months of statements did you have to submit.

Thanks 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on the financial requirements for applying for a Thai visa through an Australian consulate. Specifically, they are asking how long the required funds of 500,000 THB must remain in a single bank account before applying. They express concern about having their savings spread across multiple accounts and want to know if showing 3-6 months of regular income statements is sufficient, or if the funds must be consolidated and held in one account for that time. A couple of comments provided suggestions on reaching out to specific groups and shared personal experiences of submitting 12 months of bank statements for a visa application.

Hi there

I just applied through the embassy in Canberra as I live in Queensland. I uploaded my Australian bank account statements for 12 months to show there was sufficient funds there to live off. The whole process took 10 days to be approved. Hope that helps, if you have a few bank accounts. Maybe upload all of them.

Try asking on the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) group. If you use the search function there’s probably someone who’s applied from the same Thai consulate
