Hi, does the 500,000 baht have to be in a current account? I have an ISA trading account with the right amount of cash in it plus investments but it only gives statements every quarter so I can’t give statements from every month in the past 6 months - will this be a problem/ will they accept this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To meet the financial requirement of having 500,000 baht for a visa application, it is generally necessary to have this amount in a cash account, as trading accounts or investment accounts may not be accepted. One commenter noted that they were able to use mutual fund investments for their visa, but experiences may vary depending on the embassy. It is advised to have the funds readily available in a straightforward checking account to avoid complications during the application process.

It depends at what embassy you're applying. I am Canadian, I used all mutual fund locked in retirement investments and was approved. (Applied through Ha Noi in Vietnam.)

You need to move to a straight checking account. Cash only, no investments ... I had to move around and submit docs a 2nd time ...

You need it in a cash account, trading account won't work
