Any recent trip reports to Savannaket and the new 400,000 requirement for the Multi Non O, is it still being asked for?

If so, according to Tods post that the 400,000 doesn't have to be in a thai bank account, is a printed statement of the amount or above from my bank account in my home country sufficient?

I've checked the consulate website and nothing shows and the application form is still in the same format prior to this 400,000 requirement coming to light.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, the Savannakhet consulate requires proof of 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account or the equivalent amount in a foreign bank account for a year-long multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage. This recent change in policy means that applicants must provide documentation confirming their financial status, as previous relaxed requirements are no longer in effect.

Okay, listen up people,

The fact that the thai consulate in Savannakhet changed their policy and now require proof of funds 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name OR the equivalent of that in funds in a bank account in your country) is NOT up for debate..

Just so we're all on the same page that consulate NEVER listed year-long, multi-entry Non-O's based on marriage although for YEARS AND YEARS they sold them for 5000baht with no proof of funds at all

NOW this is the way it works, IF you can't show proof of funds (like I previously outlined) you get a 90 day single entry Non-O based on marriage, period end of story, they won't even talk to you about anything else..

IF you want to get the year-long, multi-entry Non-O based on marriage you DO show proof of funds (there is NO seasoning of the funds, it can be in the account the day before you go)

I can't babysit this post and make sure that spurious stuff doesn't get on it SO I'm closing it.

You either believe what I am telling you (for a year/multi Non-O you need proof of 400K baht or the equivalent) or you don't

Good luck with it, (y)

"I've checked the consulate website and nothing shows and the application form is still in the same format prior to this 400,000 requirement coming to light." - The 12 month multi-entryNon-O (marriage) is not listed on the website but is available at Savannakhet.

don't care in the least about what the website says people

I'm telling you NOW exactly how it works, you believe it or you don't

you better sift through previous posts regarding the requirements now at Savannahket, they now require you to show proof of fund's of 400k, as stated they stopped giving out Non o married to a Thai multi entry visa about 3 weeks ago now if you haven'tgot proof of fund's , you can go and try your luck but I wouldn't be travelling that far on a prayer and a hope because you will come back empty handed 100 %

@Harris *********
, no, not empty handed, but you might ended with a single entry non-o marriage to a Thai.

Multiple entry non-o marriage to a Thai have never on their website.

When did they start asking for the 400K?

If you're wanting to get a year long multi-entry Non-O from Savannakhet based on marriage to a thai you WILL definitely need to show proof you have 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only or a statement from your bank in your country showing you have the equivalent

Everything else is just like it lists on the requirements for the 90 day single entry Non-O visa EXCEPT the proof of funds

Write Year/Multiple on the top right of the application and give them 5000baht when you apply

are you sure the 400k฿ needs to be in a Thai bank account? I know that the money doesn’t have to be seasoned, as I’ve seen others stating they didn’t have seasoned money in a Thai bank account.

@Randy *******
you show 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only or the equivalent in a bank account in your country in your name only

I’m pretty sure that the reply has been edited. Or I’m an idiot and didn’t see that part.

@Randy *******
not edited AT ALL (as it'd come up saying it was)

you WILL definitely need to show proof you have 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only 𝗼𝗿 a statement from your bank in your country showing you have the equivalent

@Tod ********
ah, ok. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I have the proof. Just not in a Thai bank.

@Tod ********
those 400k baht in a Thai bank account need to be seasoned? Or a quick deposit before heading to savannakhet would do the trick ?
Tod *********
@Tito ********
no seasoning required

Usually don't piggyback on other posts but any specifics on the statement in your own country? For example, does it need to be certified/stamped by your bank or is a self printed statement good enough? What types of accounts are accepted - like FD/CD, loan accounts paid in advance, etc?
