What are the requirements in Savannaket for the multi entry 12 months Non-O marriage visa? Still need prove of funds? Any way around it?

Also as I have read for the single entry Non-O 90 days no need to prove funds, can someone who been there recently confirm it?

Finally, how many Non-O single entries can one do, or unlimited?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Savannakhet consulate now requires proof of funds (400k THB in a Thai bank account) for the 12-month multiple entry Non-O marriage visa application. For the single entry Non-O visa, no proof of funds is required. It is currently unclear how many single entry Non-O visas one can obtain, as recent attempts have not been widely reported.

Savannakhet changed policy last year and now require 400k in a Thai bank account to issue the one year multiple entry visa based on marriage. To my knowledge they are the only consulate worldwide that will issue this type of visa.

A single Non O from them does not require proof of funds.

I’ll let others who have attempted to get more than one advise if they have been successful there.

thank you for the answer.

I have checked the Non-O 90 days in Vientiane no mention of proof of funds needed.

Maybe you know about Vientiane consulate and can confirm that indeed no need to show funds.

It is a lot of headache to reach Savannaket from Bangkok. I don't have idea how to travel from Bangkok

Vientiane and Savannakhet no funds required for 90 days Non Imm O.

For Savannakhet fly to Ubon and transfer to Mukdahan then across the Friendship Bridge to Savannakhet

so as I understand there is no advantage to go to savannaket anymore. Can basically go to any other country and get my 90 days Non-O without prove of funds, right?

No. other countries will require proof of funds for a single Non O. Savannakhet doesn’t.

Not really. The Thai government basically wants a foreigner to show that they have funds available should they need them for an emergency. They have deemed the level to be 800k. No idea on why that figure but that’s what it is.

Now in the case of a marriage where funds are “evenly split” (yes I know it’s not usually the case but it what the law says) then the husband needs 400k.

No idea why it doesn’t work that way if it’s a foreign woman with a Thai man.
