TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a long-term Non-O visa in Vientiane, Laos, there appears to be conflicting information regarding the requirement of proof of funds. Some commenters state that currently, proof of funds (400,000 or 800,000 THB) is not required for Single Entry Non-O visas, particularly for those married to Thai citizens. However, it is essential to note that if applying for a 90-day Non-O visa based on retirement, proof of 800,000 baht is necessary. Overall, applicants should stay informed and consider alternative visa options while awaiting further updates.

Be careful outside are many (salesman) who try to sell you illegal.

if you are applying for the 90 day Non-O visa based on RETIREMENT <- being over 50 you DO show proof of 800K baht in a thai bank or the equivalent in a bank in your country to get that visa from Vientiane or you don't get it.

you asked ( π˜π—΅π—² 𝟰𝟬𝟬𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗼𝗿 𝟴𝟬𝟬𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗧𝗛𝗕 ) and the 800K is ONLY to get a retirement visa which I why I answered you about it the way I did. I didn't say anything at all about proof of funds for getting a 90 day Non-O based on marriage πŸ™‚

Vientiane doesn't require proof of funds but NOW only issues SINGLE ENTRY.... NOT multiple entry...

Non O as Married to Thai as before.

We are watching for Reports from those who are experiencing this happening as well as reports from the Visa Run service Companies which take Expats to Savannakhet Laos.

Until then...

We suggest you review your Thai Visa options.

The SINGLE ENTRY Non O Visa as Married to Thai is STILL BEING ISSUED by Savannakhet... without proof of the 400,000 Thai baht bank account in your name only.

It gets you 90 days on arrival into Thailand.....

Plus you can apply for the 60 day family visit extension of stay at Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht... which gives you total of 150 day stay in Thailand.

Again we're watching for updated Reports... will Post More as soon as it's verified information.

Ask the Australia Thai Embassy or Consulate. We have no changes reported.

Are you a holder of an Australia passport ? IF you are... it's showing the Non O Visa as Married to Thai is available for Single or Multiple entry

Always best to look and compare.
