Hello group, anyone recently been to savanakhet for a non-o single entry (90 day) for thai family/wife. I dont see any information about this visa type on the embassy website nor its required paperwork. will I need an appointment or is it walk-in only? I believe i will need a bank statement to show 400k in the bank but with no season time requirement? Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the requirements for obtaining a Non-O single entry visa (90 days) for those married to Thai nationals at the Savannakhet consulate. Community members indicate no appointment is needed, nor is any proof of funds required to apply for this visa type. It is suggested that applying for a 12-month Non-O visa might be beneficial, even if only intending to stay for a short period, as it allows for extensions and re-entries.

No you don't (not for Suvannakhet anyway)

For Savannakhet, no need to book an appointment or show proof of funds. You might as well go for the 12 month non-O, even if you intend on extending it within Thailand. Each entry lasts 90 days, can be extended for 60 days with the wife present at immigration, then you leave the country for a border bounce, come back and get a fresh 90 day stamp.

It's all been lifted, as of late December 2022. Prior to that, some border crossings enforced it some didn't. Airports generally did.
