Hi guys,

I filed a TM30 with my 90 days last year. Since that time, my previous visa has been cancelled. I have left Thailand and re-entered on a visa exemption. My question - is the previous TM30 still valid or was it automatically cancelled with my previous visa? The TM 30 date has until the end of the year and I still staying here. Iโ€™m looking to do a visa extension in the next week, so making sure I arrive with the correct paperwork. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The validity of your prior TM30 filing depends on the policies of your local immigration office. While some offices may require a new TM30 for every re-entry, others may accept the original if returning to the same address. Given your recent change to a visa-exempt entry, it is advisable to verify with your local immigration office for their specific requirements and consider filing a new TM30 to avoid potential issues.

I believe that the OP has the answers needed for his question.

That's gonna be how ever your particular immigration office handles TM30's

Some offices want a new TM30 every time you re-enter the country even if you're returning to the residence where you have one filed, other ones say as long as you're returning to your primary address (the address you used for your extension and 90 day reporting) you don't need to file

TM30's are not valid any length of time, one of the fields on the online and I think on the form is length of stay but it doesn't count for anything

I believe seeing as you aren't on that extension anymore, and are now on 30 day visa exempt entry that you most likely will have to file a new TM30 again

BUT

as I said that is an immigration office specific thing so slog on over to your office and ask them what their policy is ๐Ÿ™

OR

try to get the extension with the TM30 you have and if it won't fly they'll let you know

as I said, if you don't want to go out and ask, try to file the extension with the old one and see what they say. You'll know right off if it won't work. It's hit and miss out there as far as them asking everyone for a TM30

BUT seeing as you're here as a tourist on a free stamp I would almost bet they'll want a new one ๐Ÿ˜•

ok thanks. So I need the landlord to do it online and send me the receipt? Then take that along with everything else for the extension?

they use the new online TM30 system.

they submit the data, then search for the data they just entered, then view the data and finally they can export a PDF that IS the receipt of having filed a TM30

the new TM30 receipt looks like this

It totally depends on the local immigration office if you need an updated TM30 with the latest entry date (or after that) to Thailand even in the same address as before or not.

The best is to ask your local immigration office for their policy. If you want to take just the safe side, submit a new TM30.
