Is it true that only company directors can obtain a 1-year Non-B visa in Thailand, while employees are limited to a 3-month visa?

Hi. Now have rule that Non B visa for 1 year can make only for company directors for employee can make only for 3 month. Is it correct? Quite annoying if need to go abroad every 3 months. Is there any exception?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current rule states that only company directors or individuals who hold at least a 20% share in a company can obtain a 1-year Non-B visa. Employees, on the other hand, are restricted to a 90-day single entry Non-B visa, necessitating overseas travel for extension every three months. Documentation from the employer is required to obtain the initial 90-day visa and subsequently apply for an extension of stay.

As far as I know Penang was the only thai consulate in S/E Asia that was issuing those year-long, multi-entry Non-B visas to employees. Now that they only do it for managing directors or people who hold at least a 20% share of the company, all anyone can get is a 90 day single entry Non-B.

You would have to get in country extensions at the immigration office.

as far as I have experienced all non B's must have a WP. I look after 50 or so companies/clients in Koh Phangan FYI. Still I have seen people posting it's possible to get a non B being solely a director. However, I do operate in a notoriously ermmm difficult area - lorded over by koh Samui immigration ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”

You get the documentation from the company you're going to work for and go get a 90 day single entry Non-B visa and then you use documentation from the company to get a yearly extension of stay.

That is how they want it to work now.
