I want to go live on one of the islands and snorkel in the day teach online at night. That’s why I’m thinking of moving to Thailand. I’m tired of visa hunts and covid scares I want to enjoy myself a bit. Maybe it’s unrealistic but it’s my plan right now.

Why is everyone so afraid of a... Flu? I see all these replies of fear

i survived ... it was like a rough flu but with Jesus all things are possible. In Cumberland Co. TN active cases are down to under 50, from a high of 550, on a population of 60,000 ppl. Will stay put until travel restrictions are less austere, maybe longer...

Well, I work for a Casino in Vegas and 2 people died on my shift from it. I have been there 15 years and while the flu can kill you as well that has never happened. I also know that many had close calls and 80 percent of us got Covid. I got it. It sucked much more than the flu but I never had to go to the hospital. My brother is a Doctor and told me it was a real threat and for those that don't believe it they need to step inside his doors and take a look.

really what illness did they have for their untimely passing

The first was 45 and totally healthy the other was in his 60's and had ailments like you said. So... This is the problem with the masses. They think they just up and died of diabetes. The doctor said had the employee not contracted Covid with exception for the diabetes he would have lived much longer. Covid will take any ailment/illness and extract it to fruition of the disease. Short answer. People that have an illness were killed by Covid. If they never caught Covid they would not have died. So much disinformation. Talk to a physician...not a Chiropractor or a witch doctor in South Africa. Republican or Democrat and they will answer the same.

Can I ask why you want to leave? Probably safest place in the world.

I am pretty sure the poster would stay in Vietnam if his position hadn't become precarious

my question as well. Thai Covid Covid rising. It's a ghost town

it's a bit more complicated than how I am explaining it, but for simplicity just know they've stopped renewing visas for a lot of foreigners whose legal status in the country was a bit of a grey area (in itself, a speciality of the VN immigration system). You can expect an outflux of foreigners from Vietnam in the next few weeks, including some that had been here for years

Thailand as well. The govt was quite clear that " dirty farangs" weren't wanted.

They are catering to China and India.

Sorry to hear this. It is one of the safest countries from covid at the moment so they should let people stay, especially since it contributes to their economy.

Thailand would welcome you, same as people from (almost) all countries, IF you meet the Visa and COE (Certificate of Entry) requirements. Problem might be the lack of flights from Vietman. Also, if you don't mind me asking: Why would you? Doesn't Vietman have even much less cases? And doesn't Vietman still offer easy and free visa amnesty? I for one would be interested in going the other way - but who knows whenever this will be possible again.

@Frank-Steven **********
I don't think it would be considered easy and free visa amnesty. I believe they've actually started cracking down and making foreigners leave.

@Gar****
you know you’re wrong “for all intensive purposes”. Your article agreed that you’re wrong 😑

@Jo**
That's not how I read it. "For all intensive purposes" is the 2.0 version of "indents and purples" which doesn't even sound right.
Garrett ***********
Yes it is. Vietnam is closed for all intensive purposes, Thailand isn't.

Vietnamese nationals should be able to get a repatriation flight, have her contact the embassy in Bangkok. Also shouldn't have to pay for quarantine.

Yep. Best bet would be to contact the Thai embassy in Vietnam (not sure if it’s in Hanoi or not) and they should be able to tell you what the process will look like. You’ll need all the proper documents, and at the moment you still need to do a 14 day quarantine in an ASQ hotel.
