TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the requirements for traveling to Vietnam, particularly for a visa run, but indicates that Vietnam has strict entry rules and is not currently a viable option for visa runs. Participants suggest that Cambodia is a better alternative given its less stringent travel requirements and reopening plans. They also mention that Vietnam's government has not yet published official guidelines for individual tourists as of the discussion date. Additional mentions of other countries like India and various COVID-19 related travel stipulations are included in the dialogue.

Open for sure: Cambodia, Singapore, Philippines

Open with limitations: Laos (only through approved travel agency), Malaysia (only to Langkawi through approved travel agency)

In the process of getting their shit together so they can open(e.g. don't count on these without a PLAN B): Vietnam, Indonesia

India may be a good option..

If vaccinated, No pre departure test. If unvaccinated, only negative pre departure test. No arrival test, no quarantine on arrival, evisa available for most countries, no insurance, no hotel bookings.

On top of that, travel bubble with Thailand .

Nobody can answer that question because the Vietnamese government has until today not yet published any official guidelines. As mentioned above there isn't either any official announcement regarding availability of visa for individual tourists.

Commercial website with outdated information from January when you could enter Vietnam as a member of a tour group.

Doesn't say anything about rules for individual foreign tourists which are proposed to start in 3 days.

That's a news site masquerading as an official government page. Besides, " Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam urged the ministry to promptly finalize and make public a plan for resumption of tourism and provide detailed instructions for localities to implement the plan." does not mean they have actually performed what was being urged. ;)

Losers want people to do everything for them…. Like you put it on your FB page about lowering the bar. The Thai government wouldn’t lower the language test requirements for you? I’ll leave you alone now. Suck it up Buttercup

it amazes me how people come to a subgroup like this asking for assistance and people like yourself are very rude to them. You shouldn't be in this group if you can't be helpful without putting other people down

Okay here is the scoop. Being Mr.
@Bruce ********
can’t do basic searches I’ll lay it out. With the time frame he listed Vietnam is not an option. Easiest country to enter right now in Asia is the Philippines with Cambodia number 2. There are expat sites for both and the information will be more up to date.

It amazes me how people come to foreign countries and wait till the last minute to plan on their exit.

Remember this: Prior, Planning, Prevents, Piss, Poor, Performance… the 6 P’s

you MUST have a VISA to enter Vietnam. Everything else is easy to do and covered MULTIPLE times. Learn to use the search function so the rest don’t have to read the same request over and over.

Vietnam isn't the country for you to do a visa run in, it's harder than Thailand, they aren't issuing tourist visas and Visa exempts are still suspended.

It's of course true this has been all over the internet for several weeks now.

BUT after the initial announcement mentioning the 15th march nothing else has happened.

Travel agents, hotels, immigration, insurance companies and health care providers in Vietnam are still not able to make any arrangements for incoming individual tourists because they don't know the rules.

How is that going to work smoothly in 3 days,?????

And to top that situation .... it's weekend now!
