Is it normal to wait 2 days to collect my retirement visa from the Thai Embassy in Vientiane?

Hi. So, I am currently in Vientiane and just submitted my retirement visa documents. The process went very fast. (Last time I was here the documents were checked twice at another area, to make sure all was correct).

I was given a pick up date for Wednesday (previously it was the next day, but this time 2 days wait).

Is it normal now to have to wait 2 days before collecting or does it indicate there may need more time to check my history? (I have a LOT of different Thailand stamps including, Tourist, education and volunteer).

At this stage can the visa still be denied?

Just a little nervous.

Thank you all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has submitted documents for a retirement visa in Vientiane and is concerned about the 2-day wait for passport collection, wondering if this indicates potential issues with their application history given their various stamps from Thailand. A commenter reassures them that this wait is standard procedure and inquires about additional residency proof requirements.

Don't worry, 2 working days to pick up back your passport is the standard procedure now at Vientiane Thai Embassy.

Did they ask you for a proof of residency in Thailand as rental contract or TM30 receipt of notification ?

Thank you.

I wasn't asked for proof of residency or TM30. I took my rental contract document and photocopied the TM30. The photocopy of TM30 was given back to me and nothing mentioned about the residency proof.

Is it possible that I could get my visa denied because of this or would the officer have asked me for them when applying this morning?

Thanks again!

No. The statement letter showing the sum was all that was requested. I had my bank book and copy, but it wasn't asked for.

they wouldn't have accepted your application if it wasn't accompanied by all the documents they need. Whether it will be approved or not I guess you'll have to wait and see.

No, don't worry about that...Proof of residency in Thailand is not a required document to apply for a Non O visa at Vientiane Thai Embassy...I just asked you for information.

How much did you paid for the Lao visa at Nong Khai Bridge ? 40$ maybe ? Did they ask to pay with US Dollars or Thai Baht ?
