Needing some advice on Covid-19 extension on Tourist Visa.

I have already applied for and received the 30 day extension which will run out on 7th June from CW. My questions are:

Firstly, if I go to immigration and extend this say tomorrow, will this then be extended for 60 days from tomorrow or from the 7th June as this is when my current extension expires?

Secondly, do all applications get given an 'under consideration' stamp and you have to go back in 2 weeks to the same office you received the stamp from?

Thirdly, can you please confirm the paperwork/what's needed? Photocopy of data page in passport, TM6 copy, copy of visa stamps, letter from embassy?, TM30 form, baht to cover costs of extension and what forms do I need to print out, fill in and sign?

Apologies for the lengthy post. I've tried to search through the page for this information but it's not pulling much up!

TIA ☺️

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice on extending their Tourist Visa due to Covid-19 and has received a 30-day extension set to expire on June 7th. They inquire whether a new extension would start from the date of application or the current expiration date, the details regarding the 'under consideration' stamp, and the documentation needed for the application process. Responses indicate that the start date of the extension may vary by immigration office, confirm the requirement of an 'under consideration' stamp, and outline necessary paperwork, including a letter from the embassy if applicable.

@Paul ******
you sure they didn't ADD the two week under consideration stamp to your current expiration date (if you applied two weeks early) which would mean you come back in a month ?

Just want to make it clear..

Which immigration office?

The 1 month is 30days from the application date? or 2 (or 1 or 3) weeks from the date your current extension ends?

1 - whether they start the covid extension on the date you apply OR add it to your 30 day extension that you have now seems to be up to the individual immigration office and sometimes even the officer you get IN that office :O

2 - Yep, covid extensions at MOST offices get the under consideration stamp and then you go back to that office and get the extension inked in.

3 - If your embassy issues a letter you need it, if they don't you don't. but the list you have is good and face it you're far from the first foreigner applying for a covid extension at that immigration office.

You mention you got your 30 day extension at C/W and entered on a tourist visa so just go down in the basement to the copy shops and have the gurl make your copies, fill out your forms etc for the covid extension. They know the drill believe me

what forms did you have to fill out for the first extension? Did you get them there or print them out prior? To my knowledge you can keep getting the extension, the guy above is on his second extension. If you have a TV I got told I had to go to CW for the extension ☺️

they had the forms there. I was also told CW but when I arrived there they sent me to Muangthong Thani where I did both the tourist visa extension and then the covid extension - It may have changed back to Chaeng Wattana - thats what I am trying confirm

Is their a limit to covid extensions? I'm currently on covid extension after tourist extension, can I get another one? Also is this still done at Muangthong Thani or CW?

Tourist visa, last time i went to Muangthong Thani (after being told to go to Chaeng Wattana by several people) but I'm hearing its now back to CW?

If you entered on an actual tourist visa, which you bought at Thai consulate before you flew in Thailand and got 60days stamp first, then you have to go to Chaengwattana to get tourism or covid extension.

If you enter visa-exempt scheme without buying visa before (this is also tourist status and a lot of people call this tourist visa, too), you go to MTT.

I got my actual 60 day tourist visa in Australia before flying to Thailand in December. I went to extend at CW in Feb and was sent to MT where they gave me 30 days. I then went back to MT for the covid extension ( March). I too received the same advice - to go to CW in February/March - but it was the wrong advice at the time. This may have changed since then. It nots a huge deal if I go to the wrong one they are not that far away from each other. Just quite annoying last time to turn up to the wrong one and get a big ' CANNOT!' 🤣

@Matt ******
counter J (for TR holders) had been moved to MTT when MTT temporary office was open last year and stayed at MTT until early April. Only Counter J in MTT was moved back to Chaengwattana as of April 5th and it is at CW since then.

you just got bad advices..

awesome thank you. Seems pretty straight forward, annoying not knowing when they will extend from though. Guess that's Thailand for ya haha
