How much does a 30 day visa extension cost via agent? I’ve been quoted 4500 and 5000. Seems very high. 60 day tourist visa was only $40 US.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The cost for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand varies significantly depending on whether you use an agent or handle the process yourself. Agents typically charge between 4500 to 5000 THB, which some consider high given that the immigration fee alone is only 1900 THB. Many expats recommend doing the extension yourself as it is straightforward. Instructions include visiting an immigration office with your passport, filling out the application form, and providing a passport-sized photo. Some notable points include the need for a TM30 form in certain cases and the benefits of saving time versus saving money by choosing an agent.

TM7, TM2, TM30. Passport photo for application along with photocopy of your passport and entry stamp. Did mine two days ago and took about one hour. Few to immigration is THB 1900. Not worth using an agent for such a simple task

I would say the usual cost is around ฿4000, that is the total cost for the immigration and agent fee, it depends where you are applying for the extension, in the tourist areas it can be a long drawn out process for a reason.

Do it yourself 1900b

Why use an agent?

I paid 1900 Baht plus the 1900 Baht for the 30 day extension.

1900 BAHT at Immigration. Speaking of immigration in Bangkok. 1. Get there before they open and stand in line. 2. If your late expect to break for lunch while they close completely down. 3. Fill out the forms, in line again. Have a passport and an extra photo same size that the girl uses a glue stick to attach it to the application you just filled out. Have an address you can write down. Next wait again for your number to be displayed. Make jokes about carpet bombing Kuwait during desert storm, your number is called, go into office, sit down at one of the windows, pay the 1900 baht, outside again, wait for the girl bringing out a stack of passports, yours included. Pick up and leave. It’s 11:45 and you beat the Lunch break. Mutual hug on the way out with the nice Muslim guy who is very nice.

I arrived July 5 with a 60 day tourist visa. I will need a 30 day extension. Sounds like 1900 + 1500 and all day to do it myself vs 4500 and an hour with agent.

@Tim *******
Why all day, what office will you be using?

If you use an agent you will spend money but save time. If you do yourself you will save money but spend time. It’s is easy to do yourself but you may have to wait depending on what province you’re in. I did with an agent once it cost me 2000thb for the agent and 1900thb for immigration. I did it myself took me 2-3 hours in immigration office.

@Love ********
they gave a 30-days touristic extension to my English friend within 8 minutes on the Immigration Sisaket 🙂😎 (he had a TM30)

Phuket: Just pop down and give them your passport and passport size photo, fill in the form with your info, pay 1900tbt. Go for coffee, pick up passport with extension. (Some immigration office might want tm30. )

Clue don't use agent easy to do yourself

it is not difficult in any immigration office, it is the time it takes to do it, some immigration offices in tourist areas, make it difficult for a reason.
