I’m a Canadian with an American husband. We’re planning a 2-month stay in Thailand followed by 3 weeks in Vietnam then a return to Thailand for 3 weeks. I think as of Oct 1 we get 45 days on arrival then can easily get a 30-day extension. Is this accurate? Or are we better to get a 60-day visa in North America before leaving for Thailand? Thanks in advance for your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The traveler plans a two-month stay in Thailand followed by three weeks in Vietnam, with a return to Thailand for three weeks, and is seeking advice on visa options. They refer to the 45-day visa on arrival effective from October 1, which can be extended for an additional 30 days. Responses suggest that both options are viable—either obtaining a visa beforehand for ease or relying on the visa on arrival and subsequently applying for an extension.

Either way will work, it's really up to you. Personally I would get the visa before I went because with e-visa it's super easy and you don't have to mail in your passport anymore, and this means you don't have to spend a day on your first trip going to immigration to apply for an extension. But if you decided to, you could just enter visa exempt and then get a 30 day extension easily.
depends on where you'll be and what you'll be doing. I'd rather sit at my computer than have to wake up early and hope there's not a huge queue and pay for a grab or taxi and have to plan a day around it.
