Is it better to apply for a DTV with a one-year Muay Thai course to avoid getting a METV?

I hear that lots of people applying for the DTV with a 6-9 months muay thai course get a METV instead of the DTV.

Would it be better to apply for the DTV with a one year muay thai course for example? So that they chance of them giving you a METV is smaller?

Yes, it would be definitely better to apply booking a one year course. It will increase your chances significantly to get a DTV instead of METV

Originally it was making zero sense giving 5 year visa for ANY course that is not 5 year. Hope they will stop doing that.

Get the METV it's not bad, can stay upto 9 months a year if you time your entries and exits right. Less scrutiny than DTV.

'Lots of people'? Apart from the anonymous particpant/nicknames/burner profile reports there is one verifiable case at Jakarta Embassy. This Embassy is known to be odd. It was suspected that the length of course was unrelated to the refusal. More likely, it was the seasonal nature of the applicants employment. As no explanation for rejection was ever provided we shall never know. Highly suspected to be caused by an individual processors interpretation. In this thread you will see a post explaining that; 'length and course of the gym is not an ultimate factor'.

From my opinion getting METV insteade of DTV are based on

1. passport nationality

2. embassy that issues

3. financial documents

These 3 things are the main factors.

Yeah. I don't understand why they didn't require this from the beginning. For me as a remote worker my DTV should be valid as long as I still work, in my opinion.
