Hi! I am moving from spain to chiang mai on ed visa to study at CMU. I paid the course already and got all my paperwork ready but suddenly the embassy in madrid closed without pre notice and now i have to wait until they reopen next year to apply.
I could go as turist (so i dont need to change my flight and ASQ Hotel booking and etc) but i cant move my stuff and get it there with this turist visa, so i need to change to ed visa there to be able to receive (import) my belonggings. My doubt is...is this possible to do without having to go outside the country? I asked CMU and they told me they cannot ensure the ministry will approve my visa..has anyone done something like this? How did it go? TIA
TLDR : Answer Summary
A person is moving to Chiang Mai for studies at CMU but faces challenges applying for an Ed visa due to the closure of the Madrid embassy. They are considering entering Thailand on a tourist visa and changing to an Ed visa while in the country. However, they are uncertain about the feasibility and risks involved, particularly since CMU cannot guarantee visa approval. One commenter advises waiting for the correct visa to avoid risks.
