Hi! I am moving from spain to chiang mai on ed visa to study at CMU. I paid the course already and got all my paperwork ready but suddenly the embassy in madrid closed without pre notice and now i have to wait until they reopen next year to apply. 

I could go as turist (so i dont need to change my flight and ASQ Hotel booking and etc) but i cant move my stuff and get it there with this turist visa, so i need to change to ed visa there to be able to receive (import) my belonggings. My doubt is...is this possible to do without having to go outside the country? I asked CMU and they told me they cannot ensure the ministry will approve my visa..has anyone done something like this? How did it go? TIA

Wait until you have the correct visa...the Ed Visa...for your stay and study at CMU.

Why come and risk not getting the Ed Visa ? With COVID uncertainties... best you stay in Spain.
