Rumors or confirmed people’s visas were revoked if they changed countries waiting for the process to finally be approved?

Thanks

I just don’t see them checking after it’s been approved

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around concerns regarding visa applications, specifically the DTV visa, and the potential risks of changing countries while waiting for application approval. Several comments advise against leaving the country where the visa application is submitted, referencing experiences that suggest visas may be revoked if applicants are found outside that country. Although some participants express skepticism about the rumors, others emphasize caution, reinforcing the idea that staying in the application country is wise to avoid complications or application rejections.

Best advice stay in the country where applied until visa granted, if not wanting to be rejected and loose 10.000+ baht fee.

And you have not said what your passport nation is... and where you plan to submit the application for the DTV visa... ????

Anonymous participant if you SUBMIT to the Thai Embassy or Consulate in the USA where your residence state is assigned,

They are VERY good at issuing the DTV visa.

Here's the Washington DC Thai Embassy website for the DTV visa requirements...

Just stay put, if you can't afford to stay put then you shouldn't even be getting a DTV (only saying this because of one toolbag that cried on here they ran out of money in Cambodia whilst waiting)

I have not seen a visa revoked but applications rejected or cancelled if the applicant was found to not be in the country of application. It does seem to be very rare that anyone is found out though.

I believe now with TDAC it's not hard to check for them if they really want to do it.

SuccessfullinMalaysia even before Dtac was easy (especially if stupid enough to go back to Thailand while waiting, you entry would be logged into system), just check stamps on passport. Really rules listed on nearly every embassy site say you only need to be there at time of application but is kind of foolish to leave in case get asked for further proof of location or get called in for interview
Successful***********
Anonymous participant 863 Yes but now they don't even need to ask probably, have everything in the system.

SuccessfullinMalaysia All entry's and exits were in the system before TDAC. TDAC is just another layer of records (pointless duplication really, only benefit is they have it before you rock up to an immigration checkpoint)

Anonymous participant 863 Better than those annoying piece of papers to fill in other countries. 😂

SuccessfullinMalaysia In the case of extensions the immigration offices are asking for TDAC printed out too.

Not anonymous rumours and scaremongering, back it up with facts and links or are they just fairytales? 🤔

fact is simply you have to stay in the country you apply. When you want to break rules just find out yourself what can happen. According the grouprules of this group, advice for illegal actions should not be given here.
