TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion revolves around whether to maintain funds in a Thai bank or with Wise when applying for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Manila or Jakarta. Many comments highlight concerns that Wise, while usable for transactions, is not considered a traditional bank and may not provide acceptable statements for visa applications. Several users recommend using a Thai bank or any bank account in the applicant's name to ensure compliance with visa requirements. There are mixed experiences reported about using Wise statements for DTV applications, with some users experiencing denials based on the format of the statements.

Someone recently attended Chiang Mai immigration to extend their DTV. The extension was rejected due to Wise statements not being bank statements.

Wise is not a bank, but some embassies accept, there are stories immigration in Thailand does not accept Wise for extension.

Personally I would not keep 500K THB for a long time on a Wise account.

Wise is great for transfering money, and also nice to exchange and keep some money for daily expenses, but I would not use it as a savings account.
