I don't know if its been pointed out before, but I just noticed on the official e-visa website that it is now specifically being called out that 500k baht needs to be seasoned for THREE MONTHS.

So no more, "If you apply at 'this embassy' you only need one month" or "You just need the 500k baht in the account(s) the third month" confusion, and another step to weed out game players who are trying to dump money into an account today, apply tomorrow, and then take the money out again.
Answer summary
Recent updates on the Thai e-visa process indicate that a balance of 500,000 baht must be maintained for a minimum of three months. However, there is ongoing debate among users regarding the consistency of this requirement across different embassies, with some claiming that not all consulates enforce the three-month seasoning rule for the full amount. Discussions highlight various interpretations and experiences, emphasizing the necessity of providing three months of bank statements without necessarily needing a static 500k balance for that entire period in some cases.

OP
There's reading (knowing what the words are), and then there's reading comprehension (knowing what the words, as put together, mean). It is painfully obvious some people really do struggle with the latter. Holy hell! 🤦🏿‍♂️

Depends on embassy

Applied for DTV over a year ago for myself and partner, both of us had to show 500k baht in the account for 3 months. Couldn't even be split across savings and current account at the same bank . Perhaps some embassies where more lenient.

There's a lot of updates yet I don't see any clarity on what they are looking for - especially for soft power course duration and what actually qualifies as workcation.

said, they all want 3 months bank statements (to see income) but they don't all interpret that as requiring 500k for the 3 months. London for example very explicitly says they want 3 months statements but the 500k only needs be there for 10 days.

By your logic, as (2) says OR sponsorship letter(s), every consulate will now accept a parent's letter in place of having any money in your account at all. This actually did happen early on as it is a legal option written into the establishment of the visa. But we know most consulates won't accept sponsorship letters anymore, showing that this e-visa UI text isn't a sudden, blanket policy change across every embassy.

You're cherry picking from this the bits you like to satisfy some weird Captain Thailand gatekeeping.

I thought it was london that had that 500K in the bank 10 day rule even though you submit 3 months of statement

Nowhere does that say the balance must be 500k for the previous 3 months

I think you'll find that all consulates want 3 months of bank statements uploaded but some consulates do not require 500k in the account for 3 months only that it's in the account when you apply.

You've always had to upload 3 months of statement..

I think it clearly states 'minimum THB

Partly_enlightened not for the full 3 months, it's the balance on the account when you apply

Not quite always. When the DTV was first introduced it was the more nebulous proof of 500k THB and the 3 months worth of bank statements was added later.

What I'm saying is that there is no requirement to have 500K in the account for the 3 months of bank statements you provide.

It clearly does NOT say that, now some consulates are following that rule, but many are not and you only need to show the 500K in the account when you apply.
