I'm thinking of deregistering in the Netherlands. However I also want to apply for the DTV. Would deregistering from NL interfere with the application of my DTV?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the implications of deregistering from the Netherlands while applying for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand. The consensus from comments is that if you deregister after obtaining the DTV, it should not interfere with your residency status. However, if you plan to deregister before applying, you may face challenges, as some consulates require applicants to have residency in the country from which they apply, thus suggesting the need to apply from another location.

After deregistering from Netherlands, you cannot apply for DTV from Netherlands I think, so then you should apply from another country. Is there a reason why you want to deregister?

Are you planning on de-registering AFTER you get the DTV and are staying in Thailand? Then, no, it wouldn't interfere. `You might get a new tax residency depending on where you spend your time after getting a DTV. However, if you are planning to de-register before applying for the DTV (and I don't know why you'd want to), then it probably wouldn't negatively impact you if you apply at the consulates that don't require in-country residency, like Laos, Indonesia, and so on.

I think on the Thai embassy site in the Netherlands it says only dutch residence can apply for dtv
