I‘m on my ED visa. Last 90 days report was done on 15 October. My current extension of stay expires on 25 November.
Tomorrow I‘ll move from my condo a few buildings down the street to a hotel, where I‘m gonna stay for 1-3 months. Now my question:
Do I have to report my adress change on Monday or can I do it when I extend my visa?
Thanks in advance for your help. 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the reporting of an address change related to an ED visa in Thailand. The individual asks if they need to report their move to a hotel immediately or if they can do it during their visa extension process. Comments reveal differing opinions on the necessity of immediate reporting, with some suggesting that the hotel management will handle the TM30 form required for address reporting, while others warn about penalties for not filing the TM30 timely. Ultimately, it is advised that addressing the change during the visa extension is sufficient.

The crux of this issue is once again INCONSISTENCY in rules and application of rules from from one immigration office to another and even within one Immigration Office depending on the I/O on duty. Therefore experience in one region or area may have nothing similar in a other on the same rule / law.
Went to get a new extension on Tuesday. On the form (TM7) for the extension of stay my school already wrote my new address. During the process of the extension the immigration officer asked me, if my address (the old one that was in their system) was still correct. I told her, that I had moved and showed her the new address on the form. She changed it in the system and that was it.
Make certain the "House Master" as they call it here does in fact file the TM30 within 24 hours. They are heavily enforcing that now. Nearly every person trying to extend a visa at Chiang Mai Immigration this week was fined 1600THB before they could get an extension of any kind. They had to show the receipt of the TM30 stamped by immigration or pay the fine.
Chiang Mai got all serious about that TM.30 form a while back fining people who'd been getting extensions for years and years from them for not filing one. :/
Hotel will file TM.30 when you check in, not your responsibility. You could do it as well, but you would likely need a letter from the hotel saying you're staying there.
Thanks, Christian. Because the hotel is gonna report my stay, so maybe immigration will wonder if I moved. But I‘m gonna skip that visit and do it with the extension.
