Hey guys, I’m super sorry if this has been answered somewhere... I did a search of the posts and there’s so much TM 30 stuff on here that I tried to go through, haha so if someone can answer or direct me to a post, apologies in advance!
Here’s the deal:
I got back from Hanoi with my ed visa; love that embassy. Always easy and friendly. Anyways, flew back to Chiang Mai, went directly to the immigration office; I had the piece of paper in my passport with my proof of residence, from January, the tm 30 receipt, it’s called?? it’s the one that has my landlord’s name and my residential address on it... they gave me a new one with July’s date on it. So that’s all good for the next 90 days.
Now here’s the thing: went to my school and they told me that when I do my 90-day extension for my next Ed visa, I need to provide a copy of my lease/contract for my residence with the landlord or owner’s info on it. They did not indicate what this form is or where I might obtain it. But it seems to have something to do with the tm 30. They are aware of my current tm 30. Are they saying I must apply with a new tm 30 for that extension? I was under the assumption that because I already have a current receipt in my passport, I could just go to the office with that, and get a new one again. I’m a bit confused. Is it because of the Ed visa requirements? I know my school will give me the paperwork I need for that; but this requirement of the lease/contract?
I’m sorry I hope this is clear enough haha. For my ed visa extension Can I just go in with my passport/receipt from July? Or do I need to provide this contract/do a new tm 30?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the requirements for their Ed visa extension in Thailand, specifically regarding the necessity of a lease contract and whether a new TM 30 application is needed since they already have a recent TM 30 receipt. They have provided their current TM 30 proof from January and a new one dated July but are confused about what documentation is needed for the visa extension process.
