TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion focuses on AXA's reputation as a health insurance provider for expats in Thailand. Comments suggest that while AXA is government-approved and reasonably priced, coverage limitations exist, particularly concerning STDs and alcohol-related incidents. Users also emphasize the importance of researching and comparing plans based on personal needs, citing experiences with claims and coverage efficiency.

Where are you from I used
True traveler (Uk based)
For long stay holiday insurance last year, can buy when already here.
I was with them after one month, over £20,000 paid when I got ill and needed an operation. Really recommend.
Now I’m with Axa global as I’m uninsurable. Haven’t used them yet.
If they were the same cover as my mum got in the Uk they are good, albeit more expensive than others.

Probably best to do your own comparison based on your needs. Compare what is covered what is not .I was looking the other day and found that AXA did not offer as much benefit wise than Luma did but there are others. See also if there are good feedback to be found through trusted sources.

Yes they are efficient and get the documents to you quickly as for how good they are you need to wait till you have a claim....hopefully that will never happen 🙏

i left them coz they don’t cover any std and any case where alcohol is involved: practically if u drink a single beer and something happens to u (which is obviously NOT caused by that beer) u are not covered…
Coverage is based on your needs, but claims was easy part. The hospital called them, verified em, and directly charged em. It was Kasemrad hospital. Not sure if it was the hospital, or AXA that made it easy, but for sure I never for billed much.
