Hi all. I’m flying from the uk to Thailand 28th December for 30 days but will be extending it another 30 days. Should I get insurance for 60 days now? Or 30? Like if I’m asked why I have insurance for 2 months but my onward flight is in a month (a cheap one that won’t be used) will it be ok?

@Jodie *****
you can buy for 60 days then you don’t need to get it extended later.

Here is the Steps check price and buy it online 👉🏻

brilliant Thankyou. So they won’t question why my insurance is longer than my intended 30 day travel?

@Jodie *****
note: here is how you get your Visa extension

You will go to your local immigration office in the province you are staying. You will hand them the following documents:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and want to use their special forms)

4. 2 passport pictures

5. 1,900 THB.

They will grant you a 30 day extension of stay, added on to your current admitted to stamp.

brilliant. Is it easy enough to get a passport photo taken? Or should I get this before I come? Also, what is a departure card? Thanks
Kanit ***************
@Jodie *****
you can do it in Thailand (might be cheaper and not hard to find place to do it)

Here is the sample of departure card (normally you fill it on the plane before arrival in Thailand)
