Hi Everyone!! Hopefully you can help me. I will travel through Thailand around December and will get, I think a visa on arrival for 30days, Im from Holland. Can I extend my visa at an Immigration Office in Thailand before those first 30 days expire? Or can I also extend while arriving at the airport in Bangkok? Is it possible to extend for 90 days? Thanks already in advance for your help🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers from Holland can obtain a 30-day visa on arrival in Thailand, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at any Immigration Office, but not at the airport. While it is possible to extend, one extension is allowed per stay, and it can be more convenient to apply for a tourist visa in advance from Holland, allowing for a total stay of up to 90 days with extensions.

Most embassies/consulates around Asia will issue you with a tourist visa if you meet the requirements. Here’s a link to what Nepal one is asking for.

A tourist visa is valid for 90 days once it’s placed in your passport. On arrival you will get stamped in for 60 days. You can extend this once at an immigration office in country for a further 30 days for 1,900 baht.

In reality it's not a visa it's a visa extempt stamp for 30 day's where du can be asked to provide a return ticket or a ticket out the country and yes you can get and extension on 30 day's more and that's it then you will have to leave the country

If I was you, I would go and get a visa in Holland if you already plan to stay more than 30 days and you still have enough time to apply. It only costs around 1000 Baht there. The extension is 1900 Baht plus you will need time during your holidays. Also you can get an extension on top of your visa which allows you to stay up to 90 days in Thailand.

If you don’t want to do that: you can get an extension at any Immigration office (not at the airport). Do it after 15 or 20 days. Some won’t let you get the extension too early. You won’t lose any days. They will add the extension on top of your original expiry date.

You can only get one extension per stay, after that you need to leave the country.
