TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can enter Thailand under the 30-day visa exemption and then apply for a 30-day extension once you are in the country.

It’s not a visa on arrival. It’s called visa exempt, but semantics aside, yes you can get a 30 day extension from it.

the Southern Irish embassy has closed. All stuff is done through the London embassy. They’ve switched over to the E-visa system so it’s all done online. You don’t send your passport to them to get a sticker anymore. To enter Thailand you still need to go through the hoops of the CofE system (soon to be called ThailandPass)

sorry I haven’t used one but have seen many comments from people that have. I believe the going price is around $12. Google will be your friend.

Back in the day I used a bus ticket out of Thailand. Maybe $3. But with borders closed that option isn’t available.

yes. Doesn’t have to be a “real” ticket if you use an onward travel site.

London now use the new E-visa system. All online. You don’t send your passport to them.

They can. And many have been refused boarding because they don’t have a ticket out of Thailand within their visa (exempt) period. Regardless of whether you can get an extension. Buy a changeable ticket or a cheap “onward travel” ticket for $12 or so. You may get away with it. You may not. I’d hate to be at the check in desk and find out I can’t. You’ve gone through so many hoops to get there in the first place.
