Hey does anybody know how long you need to have left on your passport to extend a education visa? I will have 8 months left on my passport when it comes to extending my Ed visa. Do I need a year? Pondering weather to risk sending off my passport and hoping it comes back in time for the extention. Thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your education visa in Thailand, your passport needs to be valid for at least as long as the duration of the extension you're applying for. Since you have 8 months left on your passport, this will allow you to apply for short extensions (3 or 6 months) without an issue. However, if you're looking for a longer extension, you may only receive 8 months due to your passport's validity.

8 months will work ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Formally you only need a passport valid at the moment you apply (every visa is transferable) but some immigrations may not like if you passport expires soon

But 6 months and more is always considered as ๐Ÿ‘Œ wherever u go

you need as long left on your passport as the extension you're getting. SO if you are getting a 90 day extension on your ED visa you need at LEAST 90 days on your passport

Thereโ€™s not really a limit on how long is left in your passport- but any extension will only be for as long as the passport is valid. So if your applying for a 12 month extension youโ€™d only get 8 months. Not an issue if your only applying for a 3 or 6 month extension.
