What does the extra charge of 45,99€ for my Thai visa application in Germany signify?

I applied for my dtv 2 days ago in Germany, Frankfurt and today I saw they not only charged me the regular price for the visa but also 45,99€ extra costs for whatever. Additionally there are another 45,99€ reserved payments in my bank account. Anyone know what that’s for? I tried calling them but no one answers the phone though I called during office hours.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reported unexpected charges associated with their Thai visa application in Germany. They noticed an additional fee of 45,99€ alongside the standard €350 charge. Community members suggested potential reasons for the extra costs, including possible bank fees for overseas transactions, concerns over potential card details compromise, and a warning to verify the authenticity of the visa application website.

Who is "they"? The embassy? Or some random entity?

From your other comments I would say most likely your card details have been compromised. Did you make any other payments with this card ? Do you use a virtual card number online ?

Maybe your bank is charging you some extra fees as it's an overseas payment? Check with your bank.

there is a payment for 358€ (don’t know where the additional 8€ come from but I don’t mind them) from kasikorn bank Hong Kong too. But when u click on the transaction it was taken in by Landesbank Hessen, which is the same bank that took the other too payments, although the description is some weird number
