What documents and fees do I need for the DTV visa application from Malaysia, and how long does approval take?
Hello everyone, quick question before I apply for the DTV visa.
I’m planning to apply from Malaysia and currently have the following ready:
* Full passport scan (all pages) + biometric page
* Passport-style photo
* Official bank statement PDF showing funds well above 500,000 THB (balance reached in January)
* Remote work / self-employment letter
* Booking.com Malaysia accommodation (around 1–2 weeks)
My questions are:
1. Is anything else typically required beyond the documents above?
2. For those who recently applied, how long did approval take in practice (rough range)?
3. How much is the application fee?

Malaysia is the most difficult embassy to gain DTV approval. You need 6 months of accommodation booked, 6 months of 500k. Check thru the posts and you will find what is needed. Requests can also be made for bank statements to be certified. Much easier applying nearby in Jakarta, Vietnam or Laos.
