TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about extending their 60-day visa in Thailand, as they were staying beyond the allowed duration. Community responses clarified that the timing to apply for an extension varies by immigration office, with most allowing applications when there are 30 days or less remaining on the current visa. Some locations, like Koh Samui and Jomtien, restrict applications to the last week of the visa's validity. It's crucial for visa holders to check local office rules, as policies can differ significantly.
why would you ever leave it that long? They add on the days so it’s irrelevant if you you do it 7, 20 or 30 days prior (if your immigration office allows).
yeah, we turned up. Picture copy of passport and page with stamp in and paid 1900. Pay the 100 if not got these. Either way everything is printed out at the counter by the officer. Job done.
At most immigration offices you can apply when you have 30 days or less left on your entry stamp. Koh Samui and Jomtien immigration only allow you to go during your last week.
I’m sure you know but what ever don’t overstay my plane took off late once and I was arrested as I was about to board what a job that was handcuffs and all but 500 baht later I flew
I thought so , I went today and after 2 hours of form filling they said I was in the wrong district office so i don’t want to go through that again and be told I’m too early to apply for the extension visa . Thank you for your reply 🙏
